summer months to 22 degrees in winter.
LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE is the centerpiece of the Lakes Region, which is home to 274
islands. At 72 square miles, Winnipesaukee is the largest freshwater lake in the
continental U.S. contained in only one state. |

LACONIA is the largest city in the Lakes region. It is known as
the "City of the Lakes," fronting on Lakes Winnipesaukee, Winnisquam and
Opechee. A county seat, Laconia is home to Lakes Region General Hospital and Laconia
